Kashan is a historical oasis city on the way from Tehran to Esfahan, famous today for its textiles, rugs and rose water.
We spend a day visiting the courtyards of Kashan’s historical houses built by rich merchants in the 19th century (Khan-e Tabatabei, Khan-e Boroujerdi, Khan-e Abbasian), the Persian Garden at Bagh-e Fin (a World Heritage Site with a recreational pavilion surrounded by pools, fountains and canals and a hammam), ending the day at the atmospheric Kashan bazaar, getting lost in beautiful ancient ‘caravanserais’ and sipping tea at the Hammam-e Khan, an old bathhouse cum teahouse, chatting away like the other Kashanis.
